BOOK COACHING
What is book coaching?
In book coaching or writing coaching, the coach will help you develop your story, style and writing habits. Coaching can, but does not have to, focus on a specific manuscript, making it also a great option for those just starting out on their writing journey. A good coach has a deep understanding of literature, creative writing and human behaviour. The coach will focus on you as an individual, using guiding questions to spark your creativity and boost your confidence.
When to contact a book coach?
You can reach out to a book coach at any stage. Book coaching is ideal for you if you wish to start writing, are looking to rewrite a manuscript or need help tackling writer’s block. If you have completed more than half your manuscript, it is a good idea to consult a developmental editor first.

What does book coaching entail?
After booking a coaching session, you can send up to 10,000 words of your writing (Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, left-aligned) to contact@rvbookcoaching.com. It does not have to be one complete piece, you can also send different sections. This helps the coach better understand your current skills and concerns.
Each book coaching session lasts 60 minutes and is typically conducted via video call (Google Meets). During the session, the coach will help you address your challenges through guiding questions and discussion. At the end of the session, the coach will help you set goals. The coach may also give you different writing exercises to further develop your skills. After the session, you will receive a written summary of everything that you discussed with the coach.
How much does book coaching cost?
At RVbookcoaching, book coaching is priced at 60 dollars per hour. This includes reviewing up to 10,000 words of your text, providing feedback and a 60-minute coaching session. If needed, the coach will also provide additional materials and exercise sheets to support your writing journey.
If you would like to compare prices, you can find an internationally recognised price list at https://www.the-efa.org/rates/
How to proceed after book coaching?
Book coaching is typically a long-term process. After a coaching session, take advantage of the motivation and inspiration you gained, complete the exercises your coach provided and just write, write, write. If you started coaching with a specific manuscript, you should have it ready for line editing by the end of your coaching sessions.
